VDK® Santalol

Traditional sandalwood oil is obtained by steam-distilling the heartwood of sandalwood trees over 30 years old. Due to widespread deforestation, the IUCN has classified Indian sandalwood as a vulnerable species since 1998.

VDK® Santalol is produced via fermentation using glucose and other feedstocks as substitutes for Indian white sandalwood, eliminating harm to natural resources while ensuring a more stable supply.
