Founded in 2013, VDK® takes synthetic biology as its core, deeply engages in the biomanufacturing track of natural products, and focuses on four major fields: dietary supplements, natural pigments, flavors and fragrances, and enzymes. Relying on independently developed microbial cell factory technology, it has taken the lead globally in realizing large-scale biomanufacturing of natural products such as 5-hydroxytryptophan, sclareol glycol, and astaxanthin oleoresin. It has built a matrix of ten industrialized products, and its efficiency in technology transformation and industrialization implementation ranks among the top in the industry.
After more than ten years of in-depth development, the company has built a world-leading full-chain R&D platform for synthetic biology and a closed-loop system covering core links such as gene editing and enzyme engineering. The 4,200m² high-standard laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge equipment, and the core R&D team of more than 80 doctors and masters has both technical accumulation and industrialization experience, promoting the efficient iteration of biosynthetic technology. It has invested over 20 million RMB to build an independent biological data large model. The efficiency and accuracy of AI-empowered R&D solutions are on par with that of human doctors, realizing the innovation of the R&D model of “wet-dry experiments + intelligent algorithms”.

The company has built a large-scale production system with a fermentation capacity of 1,800 cubic meters, equipped with internationally advanced extraction, separation and purification equipment, forming a full-process industrial production line to ensure flexible supply of high output and stable delivery of multiple products. At the same time, it has built a comprehensive quality control system, equipped with a full set of precision testing equipment such as high-performance liquid chromatography, and constructed a full-chain quality control process from raw material entry to finished product delivery, ensuring that the purity, activity and stability of products meet the industry-leading standards.

Relying on core innovation capabilities, large-scale production capacity and strict quality control, the company has been awarded the title of National High-Tech Enterprise and National “Specialized, Refined, Differential and Innovative” Little Giant Enterprise, and has taken the lead in undertaking the key R&D plan of Hebei Province during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. It has accumulatively obtained 34 national invention patent authorizations (17 under review) and completed 18 trademark registrations (24 under review), building a comprehensive intellectual property protection system to build a solid barrier for technological innovation and industrialization expansion.
